Commonly asked questions…

Q. Do you ship your cakes?
A. We are so sorry but as of now we are not shipping our cakes…they are too fragile!!! We will, however, deliver a cake by van and hand deliver around the tri-state area and beyond! For areas further away we can provide delivery service for an extra cost.

Q. How much do the cakes cost?
A. We do not have a general price list because each cake is one-of-a-kind. Most custom cakes are priced per person. Because of the care we give to each order we must require a minimum of $1000 on all of our cakes. In general our pricing ranges from $10-$20 per serving. Pricing is based on the complexity of design and the number of people being served.

Q. Do you have a catalog or brochure?
A. We do not have a brochure other than our web site. Each cake is custom designed so our website serves mainly as a portfolio for you to see previous work. Email or call us about your specific event and we can design an exclusive edible work of art. If you would like to be included on our mailing list then email us with your name, email and mailing addresses.

Q. How far in advance should I order a cake?
A. We are often booked up many weeks ahead of time so the sooner the better to reserve your place on our calendar. We require a minimum of one month but for weddings we suggest a minimum of six months to one year. Please call or email to find out our availability.

Q. Do you make Kosher cakes?
A. Unfortunately at this time we are not under supervision to create Kosher cakes.

Q. May I intern for you?
A. We have a selective process in choosing interns. If you are interested in becoming an intern at Confetti Cakes® please email a resume and digital photographs of previous work. We require a minimum commitment of six weeks (at least one full day per week). A good working knowledge of gumpaste and rolled fondant is suggested.

Q. Do you have any job openings?
A. If you are interested in employment opportunities at Confetti Cakes please submit a resume, cover letter and digital photographs of previous work via email.

Q. Do you have a book?
A. Elisa is currently writing the first of two books on cake decorating. If you would like to be notified once the book is published, please email us your name, email and mailing addresses and we will place you on our mailing list.

Q. Do you teach classes?
A. Elisa Strauss, owner of Confetti Cakes, teaches both private and group classes of any size. She teaches in both her private cake studio on the Upper West Side of Manhattan as well as in private residences.

These lessons are a great gift idea for any celebration. She has created courses for corporate events, childrens' birthday parties, bridal and bachelorette parties. Look for our upcoming class schedule this fall. For private events, please contact us directly.

Q. Do you make individual cakes, cupcakes and decorated cookies?
A. Confetti Cakes no longer offers individual cakes, cupcakes, petit fours and cookies. We have refocused the business exclusively on custom cakes.

Q. Do you offer tastings? When may I come for one?
A. Due to the busy lives of our clients and the time constraints and deadlines we face, most appointments are made during business hours, Monday through Thursday. Friday and Saturday we are busy finishing and delivering the cakes for the weekend events. We try to accommodate everyone's schedule, so please contact us and we will make every effort to work within your schedule.
